April BJJ Updates:
We’re excited to announce that CTC class is now available on Wednesday mornings at 6:15 AM! This addition gives our dedicated morning crew the chance to tackle advanced techniques, refine their skills, and push their Jiu-Jitsu to the next level. Our CTA and CTB classes continue to build strong foundations, focusing on closed guard, side control escapes and control, open guard, and passing strategies.
Repetition is the key to mastery in BJJ. The more you drill techniques, the more instinctive they become, allowing you to execute them fluidly under pressure. As you progress, helping newer students learn the curriculum is an excellent way to reinforce your own knowledge. Teaching not only sharpens your understanding but also accelerates your growth, giving you fresh perspectives on techniques. By sharing knowledge and assisting teammates, you build a stronger foundation for both yourself and the entire team.
Another crucial aspect of long-term progression in BJJ is learning to slow down. Relying on strength and athleticism might bring short-term success, but it won’t carry you through the years. Precision, control, and timing should take precedence over explosive movements. Training with patience allows you to refine your technique and truly understand the mechanics behind each position. If you want to train effectively for a lifetime, focus on efficiency rather than brute force—Jiu-Jitsu is about leverage, not just power.
