This week we would like to welcome our newest instructor, Gabriel Marangoni! Gabriel, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been training and competing since he was 14! Gabriel would often travel to San Jose to train under the guidance of Professor Caio Terra. In 2016 Gabriel and his brother, Rafael Marangoni, officially became Caio Terra Association members.
In 2021 he moved to the US and became an instructor at the Caio Terra Academy HQ in San Jose. Gabriel will be the new academy director and will teach all the gi classes.
We also would like to welcome Sade Fountila as a youth instructor. After graduating from UC Berkley, Sade became an assistant instructor in San Jose, and we are excited to have her as part of the Palo Alto staff.
Bruno Ueda will continue to lead the morning crew and Benji Silva will remain in his role as the no-gi program director. Benji has been pivotal in the academy's growth and direction, and we are lucky to have him.
General Manager Donovan Bader will take a more limited role on the front end but will still lead most of the youth classes!
Professor will still be periodically teaching classes when his schedule allows. Thanks to everyone for all the support, and excited for the future!
