This week, CTA classes we're continuing our focus on the mount position. We'll start by learning one of the most effective escapes, with a strong emphasis on framing and the importance of consistent practice—escaping the mount isn’t easy and takes time to develop. As the week goes on, we’ll shift to attacking from the mount, working through control concepts and high-percentage submissions. Whether you're escaping or attacking, this week is all about building confidence and skill from one of BJJ’s most dominant positions.
In CTB this week, we’re continuing our work from side control. After covering the mount transition and kimura last week, we'll dive into the Katagatame—a staple submission in both jiu-jitsu and MMA known for its control and finishing power. Later in the week, we’ll shift to knee on belly, a dynamic and often underestimated position that offers strong control and quick transition options. Expect a mix of pressure, precision, and control throughout the week.
In CTC this week, we’re starting with a deep dive into controlling and attacking opponents who defend in the turtle position. We’ll cover back takes and a variety of effective chokes to break down a tight turtle and secure dominant positions. Later in the week, we’ll switch gears and focus on high-percentage jiu-jitsu takedowns to round out our stand-up game.
