This week in CTC class, we’ll start by learning how to use the smash pass to get through the knee shield half guard. The smash pass is a highly effective way to shut down the knee shield, leaving your opponent with limited options and making it very difficult for them to recover guard.
To finish the week, we’ll transition into deep half guard, focusing on how to enter deep half from the knee shield, maintain control, and sweep effectively. We’ll also cover a strong and reliable way to pass the deep half guard, giving you tools to both play and counter this position with confidence.
