Consistency is the key to achieving your goals in the new year, and your training is no different. Every January, many people commit to big changes—only to fall off by the time February arrives. Real progress comes from showing up regularly, staying patient, and avoiding burnout.
It’s also important not to compare yourself to others. We all learn and progress at different speeds, and everyone’s journey on the mats is unique. What I have seen time and time again is that anyone who commits to training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu eventually has it click.
BJJ doesn’t require you to be athletic, flexible, or strong—it’s built on technique. Even when the techniques feel difficult at first, consistent practice will make them accessible. Stay committed, stay determined, and BJJ will make your life better both on and off the mats.
