This week in CTA, we're focusing on mastering the closed guard. Early in the week, we'll cover setting up a proper armlock from closed guard, emphasizing creating the right angle and keeping our hips tight. Midweek, we'll shift to breaking the closed guard from the top position using a reliable standing technique. To wrap up, we'll work on the triangle choke, one of the strongest submissions from the closed guard.
This week in CTB, we’re also focusing on the closed guard. We'll start by learning the omoplata, a powerful submission that works well against larger and stronger opponents, as well as effective escapes and defenses against it. Later, we’ll focus on using a strong overhook for control and submissions. To finish the week, we'll explore attacks using the sleeve drag, a versatile and effective technique. Get ready to add some high-percentage moves to your closed guard game!
This week in CTC, we’re shifting our focus to the reverse half guard, a common top control position. We’ll cover how to effectively pass using the reverse half, as well as how to defend when faced with it. To wrap up, we’ll work on the long step pass, a highly effective guard pass often seen in high-level competition. This technique, when executed with proper timing and technique, is exceptionally hard to counter. Be prepared to level up your top game!
