
It’s common to go for submissions too early, especially when you see an opening. You might get close, but without proper control, your partner escapes and you end up losing the position.
Taking an extra moment to settle, control your partner, and adjust your grips makes a big difference. When your position is solid, the submission usually comes with less effort and a higher chance of finishing.
