Jiu-Jitsu at its core is a self-defense martial art. Proper movement is important because relying on strength, speed, or agility will leave you unable to defend yourself when it counts against a larger opponent. Take your time, breathe, and if something feels wrong, it probably is.
The warm-ups are an incredibly underrated part of class. The movements we do are specifically designed to teach you proper movement. Understand these fundamental movements and why we use them; your game will improve faster, and when faced with a challenge, you will remain comfortable in uncomfortable situations.
